It was an awesome run! Consecutive 15 sec neg split miles. I felt speedy. Wahooo!

Okay, so I understand you don’t come here to see my outfits on WIAW. So, onto the random eats of this week! I am seriously bad at documenting an entire day of eats, so this week I just took pictures of things that are often in my diet! Let’s go!

PS, to go with the theme, I mainly focused on veggie pics this week.

I eat grapes like nobody's business. This was full, and I downed it in 2 min. I usually bring these as snacks after class!

Just a heads up – because I’m going to be documenting my ultra training in my blog, I will be switching the name because my blog has changed focus to more running, less food. I will still be doing WIAW’s and posting recipes, I just don’t really feel like the name represents me anymore! More info on that later, but I hope you’ll still read!

One Goal to Rule Them All

Hey friends!

I promised I’d be back this weekend. I’m glad you guys enjoyed my last post, and I hope it got you thinking!

Anyways, I’m here to share with you one goal. One big goal. One REALLY big goal. Actually, like a megagoal.

Or.. An ultra goal?

Yupp, you got me.

I want to run an ultramarathon.

Preferably within a year and a half.

See? Not that hard.

Let’s be honest. I haven’t been running very long. But I love it. I love it so much.

Since I started running, I was always intrigued by tests of endurance. Obviously, because my second real race is going to be a 10 miler. I run 40+ mpw for fun. I’d run more if I had time.

I think I have some pretty kickass endurance. And I’m never going to be a super fast runner. I don’t really enjoy running super fast, to be honest. It stresses me out.

So.. An ultra. Why an ultra? Because I know that I can do things that people think are impossible. And I can do what I put my mind to.

Also, I’m just really attracted to ultras. It gets me excited. I smile when I think about them. And I am so inspired by ultrarunners. I want to be like them. I want to feel what they feel. I want to follow in their footsteps. I literally dream about running – and I want to do this.

So, you might be thinking why not a marathon to start? I’m not saying I won’t run a marathon ever, trust me. I might run one this summer! Who knows. But my ultimate goal is an ultra. I think it is the ultimate test of myself as a runner and a person.

I know I can finish a marathon. I know I can finish an ultra too. But, in a marathon, I know I wouldn’t quit. In an ultra, I’m gonna have to push myself to the limit and I’ll want to drop out. I have a long history of quitting things I love because I’m scared to push myself, and I want to prove to myself that I can push myself that far. Then, I’ll know for sure that I can do anything.

What do you guys think?

I’m excited. I haven’t figured out what, when, where, but I do know the why. Because I can do it. I can do whatever I want to do in my life. Nothing is too ridiculous. I hope you can decide the same for yourself too.

To Provoke Thoughts

Hey friends!

I know, I know. I was supposed to post something big.

Buuut, one of my best friends needed me to be there for her, so I was, and we watched Despicable Me and talked bad about boys. It was one of those Friday nights.

As a precursor to a post this weekend, I’m gonna ask you a few thought provoking questions. You don’t have to answer them now, you don’t have to answer them out loud, and you don’t have to post your response. Even though I’d love to hear your thoughts, of course.

These are questions that inspired ME, which will hopefully inspire YOU.

What do you love to do in life? Do you do that thing a lot?

What is one thing you wish you had time for?

What is that one thing that you thought you’d never do, but you do now?

What impossible thing do you want to make possible?

What can you do to make yourself a better person?

When you look back at yourself in 10, 20, 30, 50+ years, what will you want to be proud to say you’ve done?

How can you push yourself today? Tomorrow? This month? This year? This lifetime?

Just think about them. Sometimes, we need to take a pause in life, and just think. And sometimes, a lightbulb will go off, and you’ll be inspired. And maybe that inspiration will make you do a great thing.

WIA.. A lot of in February!

Hey friends!

It’s WIAW! The last in February. Happy Leap Day though!

I’m a bit late, but it’s because I have a ton of work to do.

Just FYI, these are NOT all of my eats for one day. This is a selection of eats from over the week.

Without further ado, the eats! This is what I ate a lot of in February. I tend to go into food obsessions.. Sooo, here we go.

oatmeal:

I ate a lot of oatmeal in February. Like, every morning and almost every night. CRAZINESS.

Chia oatmeal turned out to be my favourite recovery food!

Some awesome mudslide oatmeal was how I got rid of chocolate cravings and fueled up for AM runs.

I found new ways to include veggies in my diet!

Bananas and nut butter were a popular snack!

On the go snacks were ESPECIALLY popular. Some cottage cheese and mashed taters, with sunflower seeds and almond butter.

Cereal and granola was also a main staple of my snackage.

Another theme I noticed was that I seem to be loving on the nut butter. I hadn’t even noticed!
