Hey friends!

I’m Chelsea, aka your average runner girl who LOVES nut butter. I also play rugby and ride horses! In fact, I’m the captain of my equestrian team at college.

I haven’t always loved sports. I used to hate them, along with physical activity. While today, a mile is no problem, as teenager I failed the mile test in gym, and only barely passed the physical test for college.

Getting back into riding in college really changed my life. Wanting to get better fueled a rapid weight loss (more info in this post), which opened SO many doors for me. Also, the new environment of college supported a drastic lifestyle change which was key to getting my life back.

In my second year of college, I decided to begin playing rugby. Why? I don’t really know. I just wanted to! I was really bad at it (and still probably am), because at that point I still didn’t do any strenuous cardio (even though riding IS hard! I promise!). Thus started my running career. In order to catch up with my team, all of whom who had been athletes their whole lives, I started running in my off time. Hello, new world of awesome!

I love running. I love rugby. I love riding. I love riding for the connection I have with the horse, I love running for the challenge, and I love rugby for the anger management..? I expect to keep running and riding for the rest of my life.

As of January 2012, I’ve completed my first 5k, and I’m in training for a half marathon. Eventually, I will complete a marathon. I try to live a healthy, active life, which I absolutely love.. All fueled by nut butter, of course!
