Happy Halloween!!

Hey guys,

Happy Halloween! I know I’ve been MIA all weekend, but tomorrow will be back to the regularly scheduled programming, including some weekend eats and a recipe for the BEST OATMEAL EVER. I’ve had a lot to do, with the horse show and a big test today, and I’m still mentally recovering. So, see you tomorrow!

TGIFriday Faves!

Hey guys!

TGIF! Happy Friday! I’m so ready for the weekend. What does Friday mean? Friday faves! Good thing too, because I had no idea what to post on tonight. So, without further delay, here are my five friday faves:

1. Rundies. Umm.. These are too cute. I think I saw them on Tara’s blog, and fell in love. They’re totally gonna be on my Christmas/birthday list!!

2. Babycakes cupcake maker. First off, it’s pink. Second off, it makes cupcakes. FAST. Me likey. Again, Christmas/Birthday.

3. Halloween! It’s Halloween weekend. What am I being? Tonight, I was Tiger Lily from Peter Pan.. Tomorrow I’ll be Pride of the Seven Deadly Sins.

4. Pumpkin! I’m in the Halloween spirit and going crazy over the pumpkin baked goods. I need more cans ASAP!

5. Snow! This one is KINDA a lie. It snowed at my college yesterday, and quickly melted. I was surprisingly excited, even though I hate the cold, I do like snow. AND, snow means wearing warm things all of the time, instead of trying to pretend that it isn’t cold to hang onto that last bit of clothing freedom.

So there you go, my Five Friday Faves! Hope you enjoyed them. And got some ideas for your Christmas list.. Jk!! Kindanotreally. I’m super tired and am going to have a really busy weekend, so I’m going to leave you with that. But first, my SNACK OF THE DAY!

This snack of the day was on the go after working out and before going to a meeting. Cottage cheese, banana, and peanut butter. Simple but delicious! 🙂

Seven(ish) miles!

Hey guys,

Today, I SMASHED my personal distance record! Almost seven miles. 6.75 to be exact. Remember, I’ve only been seriously running (like, not only for rugby) for less than a year, so this is a huge milestone for me. Today wasn’t supposed to be a long run day, but yesterday’s long run (which was 4.4 miles, supposed to be 6) was ended early because of a stomach ache. So, I’m THRILLED that I was able to just keep going today. 🙂

My mileage put me at a great start to my day, which was AWESOME. Busy, but AWESOME. I’ve been super productive and actually have had free time to allow myself to do the things I want to (like read blogs and look at running gear and shop online) without having to feel guilty! I also think I’m going to manage to get a good night’s sleep, which should help me have an awesome day tomorrow too.

My snack of the day was awesome as well:

I’m feeling great! AND, it’s almost the weekenddddd! Yay!

Just Do It

Hey guys!

Today, I am talking about my love for Nike.. Jklolz. But, I do like their slogan, “Just Do It”. Oftentimes, I find myself not just doing it.. I think way too much because I’m a perfectionist, and I get freaked out when I feel out of control. I really want to change this about myself, because I think I’d be an all around happier and better person if I could.

How did this come up? I got the idea that my thinking needs to stop sometimes and I just need to do what I need to do from my riding lessons. I’ve been riding a difficult horse who requires a lot of work to get him to be correct. I LOVE him, but he’s hard work. Lately, my trainer has been getting frustrated because sometimes randomly I’ll just shut down when he’s being bad, instead of riding him like I know how to. This is cause I get into my head and convince myself I’ll never be able to fix him. I know this is wrong. I know I can do it. My trainer knows too, so my last lessons have run about 15 minutes over because she’s made me just do what needs to be done instead of letting me give up. I thank her immensely for this, but I really need to do this on my own.

SO, I’m adopting Nike’s slogan. Just do it. I’m gonna apply it to my real life too. Here’s a little list of goals:

1. Stop thinking so much while riding. Ride like you know how.

2. Stop delaying and overthinking things like homework and going to the gym. You know you’ll just get frustrated when you don’t go do it and end up just doing a shitty job on it at the last minute.

3. Don’t worry so much about what you wear. It makes you late. Constantly.

4. Stop changing your workouts because you’re scared of them. (For example, making an excuse to not do track sprints and instead do my safe 4 mile run.)

Basically, I need to stop thinking so much and JUST DO IT.

SO. That’s my new goal. Whatcha guys think? Do you guys have anything you need to work on in your life?

Also, snack of the day!! Cottage cheese + almond milk + banana + PB = nomnomz.
